Why is the event being held?

The Rosary Bowl is being held in order to encourage Catholics and others to enhance their faith through prayer of the Rosary. Twenty-eight million people world-wide have attended 40 such events organized and conducted by Servant of God Father Peyton, now a sainthood candidate, over four decades and found them to be great experiences of the Christian community.

The Rosary Bowl seeks:

  • To enhance the prayer lives of our families, ourselves and our communities;
  • To strengthen unity in our homes and communities
  • To help foster world peace

What is the specific intention being prayed for?

World peace and the strength and unity of families around the globe, especially in war-torn areas

What is the cost of admission?

It’s free!  No parking fee either!  A collection will be taken up at The Rosary Bowl NW. To Help defray the huge expenses of this event, donations can be made online at the Rosary Bowl NW Home Page or by calling 503-586-3505.    Donations are tax deductable.

How is the event being organized?

A Core Committee comprised of volunteers are planning the event. Bishop Steiner is the archdiocesan director of The Rosary Bowl NW. The committee is using Father Peyton’s Rosary Handbook, an organizational campaign strategy to plan the event. Father Peyton used this methodology to conduct 40 Rosary prayer rallies around the world. Integral to the plan is Father Peyton’s “Six Mountains,” to be “scaled” for a successful event:

  1. A public Holy Hour for 40 days in each parish
  2. 40 Masses celebrated in each parish
  3. Sunday Sermons on the importance of the Family Rosary
  4. Catholic School Campaign on the Rosary and its importance
  5. Harnessing the spiritual power of the sick
  6. The Rosary prayer event itself.
